Well done huge achievement to get to Semi's like pastmasta says Just win it next year this t Ishe build up to something great for the future safe trip home guys :-) Also huge well done to Mike Clark winning 80% of his frames coming second to Tom Cousins who's world class so were not far away from achieving greatness.

Unlucky lads. Any candidates likely to make the TV highlights?! Good finishes/twitches etc...

Here is a run down of last nights match.

Arrive at the hotel after a couple beers and a Jaeger to get the lads settled.
Noisy Jocks enter hotel turning loads of heads as we sing. "We'll be coming down the road"

Mr Harwood politely asks us to keep the noise down.

We politely tell him to STFU.

Enter TV arena and enjoy the atmosphere.

Boys are severely pumped up and ready to go as the
TV Intos are done.

Time is here.

Frame 1 - Daz dishes from their dry break and gives it large after winning everybody loud and pumped up.

Frame 2 - Wishy pots from the break and nominates yellow. Pots a yellow. Irish captain calls for a foul and says he didnt nominate. Referee agrees and calls a foul. Wishy tells the ref he did nominate and that before he potted his second ball she has said "Yellow balls in play" Ref agrees and tells Wishy to play on.
In all the confusion Wishy plays on pots a ball but goes in off. Ireland dish with 2 shots. 1-1.

Frame 3 - Patty takes out a finish to make it 2-1.

Frame 4 - Martin wins now 3-1
(Didna see this frame coz I went for a fag).

Frame 5 - Mark McGauley has chances but fails to win
3-2

Frame 6 - Mark Fleming has chances but fails to screw back enough when on a finish. Plays a decent safety but Irish guy tries to cover a pocket,Pots Red and dishes.3-3.

Frame 7 - Mike Clark our player of the tournament sits in his chair as Irish break and dish. 3-4

Half Time - Another Fag break for 10 mins.

Frame 8 - Daz breaks and pots,Takes red and gets control of the frame. After a serious amount of tactical play and a few DF's Irish win frame. 3-5

Frame 9 - Wishy takes out monster finish. 4-5

Frame 10 - Patty takes out great finish 5-5 and 2 from 2 from the capitano.

Frame 11 - Martin has a chance but misses long yellow into half a pocket. 5-6.

Frame 12 - Matt Brannan gets dished 5-7.

Frame 13 - Mark Flembo has a tactical battle. After some good play from both players Irish lad pots his second last yellow and plays a cannon(skill shot) on to his last ball to be plum on the black.
Great shot and we've lost 5-8.

Terrific effort from our lads and just a pity that Mike
never got a hit in the final.

Well done to the Irish super bunch and all very very talented players.

Went and got p1shed courtesy of our sponsor.
Mr Shooters (Andy Eagar)

Better luck next time boys and a great performance by all. 6 of our team are early / mid 20's and have came thru the ranks of the SEPF and with the likes of Ryan Davie U21 World Champion and Ryan Fleming last years U21 Runner up now ready to challenge for places the future looks fantastic.
Not forgetting the teams No1 suppoter this week Colin Dawg Brown who had fantastic results in the singles and Masters.

Cheers Derek thats a great summary for those who werent there. Sounds like it was close game. Easy to say now but maybe Mike Clark could have played first to ensure he played both frames after having the best record throughout the event. Theres always next year and young team as you say which is good.

Yes Chris hindsight is a great thing.
Mike was last man throughout all the matches and it was kept as was for the final.
Felt gutted for him and also Baba who didnt get a game in the final. But as you say there is always next time.

Let me just add a well done to all the lads, ladies and juniors that played and also went down to spectate this year.. Was a great turnout.
Sh88ters are very proud to be associated with all participants.

In our first year of sponsorship, managed to get a couple of semi finals, a new world champion and also get our "brand" on tv...
We will be working closer with the sepf executive to help support and advance our juniors, under 21s as well as our senior teams for future competitions.

A big thank u to brocher, Derek, pixie, John Murray and all the rest of guys down there making it happen.
Roll on the home internationals and Europeans.

Thanks for that Andy it was a brilliant 10 days that saw all the teams bond well and produce our best results ever. The Ladies and U21s as you said made their semi finals and young Ryan davie won the World u21 title. Also Sue not only won the Ladies Masters title but then went on to secure the World Singles title for the 11th time.

I would also like too thank you Andy for what will be a lucrative 3 year deal for the Federation and all your hard work down at Blackpool. Martin the dates for the Home Internationals will be sorted out in a few days and i will get back to you asap.

Well done to the ADPL players who took part in the championship you were all awesome.

Yeah congrats to all the Scotland teams, best year for our guys in a good few, Also Mikes record in the comp was mental and if only you had played a couple more frames you would have easily won the player of the tourny!

Unlucky to the mens team done class to get to the semis though. First time for me at the event and everything about it was top class. It was ten times better than the BB event in Brid as everything ran on time and it looked much more professional with the waistcoats etc. Also would like to thank all the guys for the support all week really appreciate it would of been a much harder task to win if I didnt have all the lads cheering for me every match and they just met me at the start of the week! Looking forward to the next event to see everyone again and maybe have a drink or two ;) going to try make it to as much events as possible :)

Cheers Ryan!! You were a class act in all your singles matches and deserved the title. Not bad to beat an ipa tour winner and European u21 champ in ur first competitive wr match. Stick in the tours coming up and you might find yourself helping the men's team win it next year. P.s cheers for pushing me up the road when I couldn't walk, crazy walkabout haha
