The XSP.CO.UK PREMIER LEAGUE fixtures can now be viewed by going to the XSP.CO.UK Singles Leagues section from the home page or through Fixtures, Results & League Tables > Season 2011/12 > XSP.CO.UK Singles Leagues. Then look up Premier League and Fixtures.

As you can see matches MUST be played at RILEYS by either 15th or final day of the month. This means there is one match due between now and end of September and then 2 a month until the end of April. Play-off finals are scheduled for the May Day weekend 5-6 May 2012. The Premier League shall be played at RILEYS and you must arrange between yourselves and them a suitable time for your match before the deadline.

You must play only the given matches for that period and not play any out of order or in advance unless agreed with the Match Secretary Allan Irvine. Anyone working offshore or unable to make a deadline should inform his opponent and also the Match Secretary or the match may be voided.

First round of matches in XSP.CO.UK PREMIER LEAGUE to be played by 30th September at RILEYS:

Andy Reid Jnr v Kev McAlley
Chris Lawrie v Lindsay Ahern
Craig Birnie v Mark Oaten
Dave Wardleworth v Colin Brown
Euan Jessiman v Dave Martin
George Henderson v Paul Slorach
John Falconer v Nicky Duncan
Paul Simpson v Mike Kelly

Remember ?2 a head to play to be paid to RILEYS before they give you the balls for the table and results to the bar staff immediately after the match. RILEYS staff shall be adding the results to the website as soon as they happen.

Chris/Martin,

Can you confirm to all that this is a straight league and will not be followed by a head-to-head, knockout phase?

The other thread still indicates towards this???

Straightforward league format.

Everyone plays everyone once = 15 matches.

Matches first to 7.

1 point for win 0 for loss.

If tied on points at the end of season it goes to frame difference then if still tied the result between the two players.

Bottom 2 go down in Superleague and 9-14 have to play playoffs against 3-8 in the Premier League to retain their place in the league.

Bottom 4 in Premier go down and winners of Championship come up. 9-12 in Premier also play off against players from Championship leagues to retain their place at end of season.

Prize money pays out top 8.

All other rules are on the info sheet in the captains pack. If you think anything is missing let us know.

Chris Lawrie 3 v 7 Lindsay Ahern

Just in case there are any comments, it was played at Rileys, but Lindsay came in to drop his cue off and asked us to put the score up on here.

Rileys will still have to update the League Republic doofery thingy.

The only reason I asked Abi to update the score was because when I asked the staff at Rileys they didnt know anything about updating the scores on league republic. ;-)

Both John and Andy have had emails showing them how to update League Republic. I am sure they will both get the hang of it soon enough it only takes a minute or two.

Not seen a rule for this, but is the onus on one of the players to make contact, i.e. home player.

Can see possible problems with both players "waiting" for the other to get in touch - deadline passes, and before you know it there's a dispute about who's to blame.

Apologies if it is a written rule somewhere

below extract from rule sheet that is available,

its by mutual consent Furry, ie onus on both players to make an attempt to get in touch and arrange their game.

Felt it was unfair for onus on home palyer as its effectively at neutral venues, and putting onus on both players was hoped be much more of a chance that the games would be organized in plenty of time and for leagues to run smoothly without too much work on our side, 2 chances instead of 1 chance to get game arranged :)

Anyway if no player makes effort to arrange its voided, if 1 player makes the effort and struggles to get a date agreed / committed by oppoistion, inform Al and we will make a decision whether to avoid a 7-0 or not

hope this helps

Matches should be mutually arranged at a time that is convenient for both players but before the given deadline.
Matches must be played in that specified 14 day period (ie. 1-14 and 15-31 for the month).
Failure to play the match by the deadline shall result in a void match and both players will receive no points.

Only 1 result so far in for this, just a reminder first round matches need played by 30 September or neither player gets any points. Any problems in getting played on time let Allan Irvine know in advance, cheers.

Mike Kelly 7-4 Paul Simpson. I presumed the winning player texts the result in?
