I will be running a Summer League again in 2011, 1st matches will be 7th June, sponsered by Riley's this year.

The Summer League this year will consist of same 5 man team format that its been in last few years (3 sets of 5).

I will be at Riley's every Saturday from Saturday 23rd April between 4pm and 7pm. For anyone who would like to enter a team for this years Summer League. Saturday 28th May is last day for getting a team entered as I will be working on fixtures from there on.

The format: This is based on 20 teams so might be amended slightly depending on numbers, but it will be as last year with top two teams in each group qualifying for quarter finals onwards.

Also in this years summer league I have decided to add a "runners up" cup where 3rd and 4th in each group qualify for a seperate quarter finals onwards just between 3rd and 4th in each group. There will be a prize fund set aside for both 1st and 2nd place tournaments and 3rd and 4th place tournaments, that bit is already sorted.

This years Summer League is sponsered by Riley's who have added ?250 to prize fund. All matches in both tournaments from quarter final stages will be played in Riley's.

The cost for each team to enter is ?25 per team, I Can send registration forms via e-mail as required. Also, if there are any new teams thinking about entering a team then this is a perfect opportnity to get to the know the rules and have some match experience before next Winter League.

Entry forms also available on the day or simply write down your Captains and Vice Captains contact details, Venue you will be playing out of and list of players in your team on seperate sheet of paper and bring it along with you when entering your team.

More or less all the matches will be played on Tuesday's, but will again wait and see how entries go, so won't rule out a couple of Thursday dates yet.

Final Prize Fund will be confirmed on entries.

Can anyone who already knows they will be entering a team please add to this forum so I can see how entries are looking.

Thanks and hope all the teams that enter enjoy playing in the Summer League.

Allan.

Will this league fall under the SEPF banner or is it independant?

Still be WR though Colin, isnt that what you boys are not allowed to play. Not just SEPF sanctioned events I dont think, could be wrong. I hope you can play in it as with the Sh88ters Div 1 Challenge if that ever comes off.....

Just a note, will not be in Rileys this weekend for any early team entries but if by chance any teams ready to register for it then you can leave details behind bar and I will collect next week.

If we can organise and the committee agree I think there may be a mailshot being sent out in next few weeks to all the pubs, clubs etc in Aberdeen that will give them all the details about entering teams in the league as well updated rules etc. Suppose will come down to what funds are available for this in the end.

I have put together a mail merge list. Would just need to put together a cover letter, some info sheets, team registration, maybe rules posters. So perhaps 10 sheets per pack, A5 envelopes and stamps. Would probably be several hundred in total.

Apologies Al bit off topic all this but if we got it together soon then we could add summer league details too.
