This years event will take place on Mon 3rd Jan at Rileys, Bridge Place.

Entry fee ?20

The event will be double elimination format, best of 5 on both winners and losers side, and will be played to Blackball rules.

In order to have a reasonable finishing time, the event will be capped at 48 entries.

Anticipated prize fund will be ?1000, with the following payouts.

1st ?340
2nd ?190
3rd ?150
4th ?100
5th= ?70 x2
7th = ?40 x2

Any SPA/WR Category A players will start all matches on -1.

As with last years event, the draw will be done in advance, so I ask that if you add your name, please be sure you will be in attendance (you have the opportunity to withdraw up until the draw has been carried out - probably on the 29th Dec) Once your name is on the draw, you will be liable to pay regardless of attendance.

Free Nurofen and Andrews liver salts will be provided.

I expect this event to be oversubscribed, so please get your name in quickly to avoid disappointment.

I though most offices would be closed on the 3rd/4th since New years day falls on the Saturday?

Oh, forgot to add. Mr Craddock will be on -1 too if he decides to enter along with any other IPA/ex IPA players.

Arbroath players. Dipped my feet in the water there first before deciding on the format.

Looks as if the Arbroath boys will all be on zero handicap as none of them are Cat A SPA players. And by my reckoning some of them are easily better than some of the boys in the ADPL top 16. Seems unfair George.
The handicap format is not good when you're only playing best of 5!!

You do however have a point. If nobody objects I'll change it from top 16 to the "A" players from the category list that was produced for the 5 man event. That would be more of a like for like.

Colin, Graham Dunbar and Davy are very good players, don't know about the rest of them either. I say drop the handicap format and make it an even field!!
