Rileys, in conjunction with Ross McInnes, are holding a 5 man team event.

Local qualifiers for this event will be held at Rileys, Bridge Place on Sat 1st May. Rileys Clubs across Scotland will be holding similar qualifiers.

The Grand Finals will be held at Rileys, Dumfermline on the 11th/12th Sep.

All entries for this event need to be in by Friday 5th March.

The entry cost per team is ?30 (for up to 6 players) and the prize fund is ?3500, with ?1200 going to the winners. It is anticipated either 16 or 32 teams will be given places at the finals.

Once all local entries are received, the number of places at the Grand final will be awarded to each area pro-rate.

To prevent "super-teams" entering, there are only 2 top quality players allowed to enter in each team. This can be one Cat A player + one Cat B player, or two Cat B players (the categories decided for Aberdeen league players will follow on the next post)

Any player with a fixed AB postcode may enter. Those players who do not regularly play in the Aberdeen league will be given a category on request - Phone George Henderson on 07877 712789

The Grand finals will obviously be played to Blackball rules, I will leave to decision on the rules played locally to a public consensus (In my opinion, it would make a whole heap of sense to play the same rules as the finals)

Printable entry form (I will print off some of these and leave them in the new box at Rileys (once it's delivered!)

We have been allowed to enter this as our SEPF affiliation lapsed on Dec 2009.

Any questions, please fire away.

Two questions...

1. What happens if we re-affiliate to the SEPF?
2. Where did the category A and category B list come from? SEPF international ranking lists?

1. Won't happen.
2. I produced based on my knowledge of the players and compared it to the SPA catergory list. The list has been approved by the SPA.

1. Is that 100%? What if we continue with world rules, but remain unaffiliated?
2. Is the SPA category list readily available?

no nothing is 100% yet, not until after SEPF AGM on 7th Feb - myself and Proudy are going down to it - will we know if the SEPF is to continue and under what guise.

At the current moment we are unaffiliated- thats all that matters.

The category list is freely available on the scottishpool.com website - on the left hand menu

Sorry, was kind of a rhetorical question. If we re-affiliate (as is possible if someone has some radical new ideas), what happens then? Stating 'won't happen' is not useful to anyone.

Choice of venue was made by Howard Millar of Rileys. The SPA's recommendation was Stirling.

At least someone is providing competitons for ADPL members to take part in. Nobody else has done diddly squat in 2010

Please indicate on your entry for which rules you would prefer to play the qualifiers to.

Majority decides....
