Archives: Tsunami Appeal Tournament
Posted on Monday, January 10 2005 @ 03:20:28 GMTby adpladmin
National Pool News scottish8ball writes
An 8ball pool tournament will be held on Sunday 30th January at Styx Pool Bar, Kirkcaldy, Fife to raise money for the Tsunami Appeal Fund.
With the help of the 8ball community and the 'Press' the appeal and tournament already look as though they are going to be a tremendous success. Within a few hours of the announcement of this event money had been pledged by several players, but there's still the opportunity for many more to take part.
So, the organisors are asking for support from players, local businesses, pubs & clubs and Scottish pool organisations and leagues.....

The main tournament will be played to 'federation' rules. It is also likely that other small competitions will be held on the day.
For example 10 Ball Crash, Speed Pool and 14-1.

The organisors are already being pledged ?50 for each participating player. That and all other money raised will go to the appeal fund.

There are a number of ways in which the cash may be raised.
For example a direct ?50 pledge from the player involved or player sponsorship from a local league, pub or business.
Another option might be for pool teams to organise a 'local qualifier' at their home venue... with several players contributing a few pounds each to raise the sponsorship for the winner to attend the main event.

The appeal and tournament is being publicised in the local newspapers and on national 8ball sites.

If you wish your name to be added as a player, would like to to sponsor a player or simply require further information, please contact.....

Many thanks for your support..
